Rod Salyers

Rod has been a pioneer in the fly fishing industry for more than 20 years. In1992, Rod founded Tight Line Fly Fishing, LLC and has operated the business as the principal owner ever since. Rod has spent the last 15 years developing creative methods for catching smallmouth bass on a fly rod and is consider one of the industries foremost experts on the species. He has written “Seasonal Tactics for Southern Smallmouth” and is on-staff with Riverborn Fly Company as a Master Tyer. Each year Rod creates some of the very flies that we all buy in fly shops. Don't be fooled though, his creative genius doesn't stop with smallmouth. Rod is known in the industry for perfecting the art of catching “Trout of a Lifetime” for many anglers. His skills and knowledge of the sport are second to none and he can teach them to beginners and advanced anglers alike. Rod is a pro-staff member for Ross Reels, Lamiglas Rod Company, Wulff Lines, Teeny Lines, Dan Bailey Waders, Blue Ribbon Nets and Riverborn Fly Company. Rod also enjoys traveling and spending time with his daughter Jessie.
